Teen Sexual Issues

Tuscaloosa Christian Counseling has several programs to help teens: the “Teen 3-Day Intensive”, a program called “Sex, Teens, and God”, and YouthSTAR.

“Teen 3-Day Intensive”

Today, more and more teens are falling prey to the sexual revolution and the Internet. The “Teen 3-Day Intensive” will address the dangers, side effects and solutions for those hooked in this web. The intensive is geared for teens struggling with:

  • Internet Pornography
  • Self-sex
  • Promiscuity
  • Relationships
  • Lust
  • Fantasy

Each day this intensive will include 2½ hours of one-on-one counseling, video therapy, and assignments. The teen will complete this intensive with a heightened awareness of the threat this behavior will cause in their future. Solutions will be provided to guide them toward a healing lifestyle.

“Sex, Teens, and God”

If your adolescent is struggling with sexual issues, the internet and pornography, we have a program for him/her and you. It is called “Sex, Teens, and God”. This involves two sessions of parent involvement. Then, there are eight sessions of group therapy for the teens. One session is conducted each week.

Finally, there is a program that guides you with your teens through the toughest—and most important conversations you’ll ever have with them. Some of the topics include:

  • A sacred sex perspective
  • The sexual brain
  • Three major fronts
  • The porn trap
  • Healthy boundaries
  • The M word
  • Roadblocks to intimacy
  • Creating a sexually successful future

Many churches are using this venue in order to assist families with this most important area of understanding.  It is important that our teens acquire a Christian view on sex and relationships.

We also have a YouthSTAR program, and it is a 10-week outpatient treatment program intended for youth ages 12-18 who want help in dealing with the following issues:

  • Viewing pornography
  • Masturbation
  • Sexualized relationships and interactions (texting, online, or in person)
  • Dating and boundaries
  • Same sex attraction
  • A healthy view of sexuality
  • A “sacred sex” perspective

Parents are given tools and resources as part of the YouthSTAR program to help their teens succeed relationally and sexually.   More importantly, it is done from a God-honoring perspective.
